Reverend Catherine SolomonI am a native of Camden, New Jersey. The eldest daughter of Rev. Norman Solomon and the late Susan Solomon. I was born and raised in the AME Zion Church. I earned an Associates of Arts and Science degree in Psychology and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Rowan University. Ihave earned a Master of Science degree in Criminal Justice and Behavior Analysis from Saint Joseph’s University. My education has enabled me to served in many leadership roles in the Mental Health and Human Service sectors. Currently, I am a PhD Candidate at the Chicago School of Professional Psychology.

My Story

I answered the call to preach at the age of 24, preaching my trial sermon under the pastoral leadership of my father, the Reverend Norman Solomon. In 2023,I received my first pastoral appointment to the Mount Zion AME Zion Church in Eatontown, NJ. With the Lord’s guidance, during my pastorate, the church was able to see an increase its finances and complete numerous physical improvement projects to its building. In December 2024, I was appointed the pastor of Duryee Memorial AME Zion Church in Schenectady, NY. I have had the privilege of also serving in various roles within the Women’s Home and Overseas Missionary Society and the Christian Education Department.

I am not ashamed of the gospel of Jesus Christ. I believe that God’s grace is sufficient. I take the Lord’s work seriously. While I love serving God and the church, my favorite assignment is being a mother to my daughter, Lauren.
